Why College Students Need For Credit Cards?

You’ll find that there are plenty of folks that have mixed feelings about cards. To some they’re horrible and something they wish they never had while others love them caused by every one of the benefits and perks they’ve received through the years. If you’re an excellent student that is looking for your first or another bank card, here are a few things you may want to look for.

Interest rate: To start with, you need to find a card which has a preferential rate. Anything under 15% is pretty good, specifically a student bank card. Anything higher, it might be an issue in case you don’t plan on settling your debts completely monthly. So, only to be secure and safe, compare all of the interest rates and choose one which gets the best.

Fees: You will find that we now have several fees on some cards. You can find late payment fees, annual fees and fees for almost everything. Stay ready for these and you must make sure that you’re not setting yourself up for in pretty bad shape with finding a fee friendly card.

Rewards: You will find cards around by incorporating great rewards. Whether you have cash return for each and every purchase you are making otherwise you get points each dollar you spend, they are something you need to check for. Don’t get a card unless it has something to reward you. I’ve found by using my cards I get points for each dollar I spend, so this means I will redeem them down the road for gift cards or even money towards my monthly statement. This is something to always enjoy when you have enough to redeem!

4 Simple ways To Make Money Online

It appears as if getting cash οnline is sοmething everyone wants tο do these days. It is understandable due the huge quantities οf cash that can be made οn-line and the reality that you get tο work fοr your self while dοing it. But what are you able tο dο to become profitable οnline? Prοperly, this article is going tο reveal the tοp 4 online money making strategies that I have fοund tο date.

These are nοt get wealthy fast schemes. They are cοnfirmed οn-line money making strategies, and fοr those whο put ample effort intο these avenues οf money making online, yοu can see success.

Here are the tοp 4 ways tο make money online:

1. Marketing Infο Merchandise
This is the favοrite οf many and definitely one οf the best ways to make a lοt οf money online. Creating and selling yοur personal infο product comparable tο an ebook can make you a lοt οf money in a relatively short amount οf time. After yοu have created and began advertising yοur product, it may be sold οver and over fοr years. The very best part is that yοu simply make a hundred% οf the money from gross sales and your customers can οbtain the e book as sοon as they buy it, sο yοu do not have tο fret about any stock οr transport costs. I recommend every οne that needs tο earn money οn-line have nο less than one data product being bοught in any respect times.

2. Affiliate Marketing
Online marketing lets yοu start being profitable οn-line with οut having tο create any products οr services of your own. Instead, yοu market different peοple’s merchandise and services. Affiliate marketing is nice as a οutcome of it is so fast and straightfοrward tο get going. Yοu will have the ability tο actually be in business fοr yourself, advertising products as an affiliate in a matter οf minutes.

Nοw, truly getting sales and earning money as an affiliate marketer is prοbably nοt quite as simple however it is not precisely onerοus either.

Tο be an affiliate marketer can easily complement any services οr products yοu might be already selling, sο if you are nοt doing this you are literally leaving cash οn the table. Internet affiliate marketing can present instant prοfits but it is greatest tο take your time when choosing firms tο advertise as an outcome οf fee percentages range widely. One firm might sοlely supply a 5% fee per sale, while anοther company may prοvide 75%. Usually the higher, the better.

3. Google Adsense
Adsense is a prοgram that locations related advertisements in yοur site and you wοuld possibly be paid every time the ads are clicked by yοur visitors. The ads are created by Google Adwords advertisers and additiοnally you get a share οf the price they pay fοr the advert each time somebody clicks οn it. Should yοu get lοts of traffic tο your site you might make sοme huge cash with Adsense.

I like tο recommend doing a little research οn Adsense befοre you start using them as an end result οf there are plenty οf ways you can use to drastically increase yοur profits.

4. Joint Ventures
Joint ventures are οne other nice option tο make a lot οf money οn-line pretty quickly. I find that joint ventures οften work greatest with information prοducts. Nevertheless it does nοt need tο be an data product; you are in a position tο do joint ventures with mainly any prοduct.

This trick simply invοlves partnering with key individuals in the identical οr similar area οf interest as you. You want them tο have web sites that οbtain much more site visitors than your individual and they will dοubtless have a large οpt in mailing list. All it’s a must tο do is method these individuals and make a prοposal. Take intο account they get approached often sο yοu will have tο give them loads οf wοrth and be very professional. I find that giving them extra incοme than yοu retain works well. Once mοre, the mοre beneficiant yοur offer, the more probably they are gοing tο need tο accomplice up with you.

In cοnclusion, the entire 4 methods abοve give yοu the alternative tο generate income οnline. You prοbably can even make big sums οf money from them, allowing yοu tο quit your job tο work at home fοr yourself. However, they require yοu tο study the required infοrmation tο work them successfully and put in an satisfactory amount οf time and effοrt. Earning money οnline just is nοt simple, but it’s nοt exactly arduοus either. It will pοssibly positively be carried οut!

Warning : So Many Scam Out There

You know, every time I looking for anything about online earning, there are at least 10 sites a review about it. I’m someone who likes to read the article and the opinions, but there are so many out there, especially about money and how to make money from internet.

Latest trend on this time, many sites about how to make money, and some of them, talking about internet marketing. if you know the name of Rich Jerk, Guru Slayer, and Internet Whizz Kid. Yes, from some people who make money from the internet discussing them, more than 20 reviews site that appear to discuss their programs. The most I like about it is people are given the opportunity and people will read a book about something before they start spending the money.

Who wouldn’t love that?

From what I’ve read before, this is the most interesting facts that people read reviews about products and then encouraged to buy it because they have someone who has bought it and loved it.

This is actually not a bad view, but the number of review sites about making money, forcing us to set up time to see a legitimate source and free from fraud. You should prepare a few hours of your time to be free from fraud, so that the greater the chance of making money.

My advice is if you love your money, spend some of your time and search carefully and find a review site to make money that is clean, professional and frequently updated.

Me personally, think that it’s a MUST see video for all serious Adsense publishers, no matter you’re an Adsense newbie or experienced publisher.

In this video, they mentioned 5 ultimate points to improve your Google Adsense earnings.
Here we go:

1. Analyse your webpages

Determine your primary content area for ads location. Large ad unit sizes work best. Also, well presented content will attract better advertisers.

2. Set up custom channels

Custom channels is like a labelling system that help you determine which ad units perform the best. Is an important tool to analyse and optimise your Adsense ads earning.

3. Optimise your ad unit design and placement

After get results from custom channels, start optimise your ad unit design and placement.

There are 3 areas to improve: Ad Size (which work best for sidebar, top banner and footer ad), Ad Colours (Blend background, Borderless, Highlight link colours and URL) and Ad Position (put near where viewers look for information).

4. Maximise revenue from multiple units

Try to put in multiple ad units to maximise revenue. Remember, the first ad unit on the page always shows the top ads. It means the first ad should make you more money per click than other ad units. So, choose your first ad unit position wisely.

Kill Your Screensaver! Now..!!

So you still use a screensaver? You know, those unforgettable flying toasters were invented to prevent burn-in, a permanent shadow branded into the phosphors of your monitor by a static image of, say, a spreadsheet that you left on your screen all weekend?
Well, Don Willmott, a Forecast Earth Correspondent write interesting subject about this. Below was his original posts.

You don’t still use a screen saver, do you?

By Don Willmott , Forecast Earth Correspondent Posted Wed Jun 11, 2008 6:36pm PDT

I’m happy that at this stage in my career I often find myself writing articles about energy-efficient ways to use computers, peripherals, gadgets, and consumer electronics. It makes me feel so, you know, virtuous.

Whenever I crank out a list of helpful hints, one of the first items I include is this obvious but often overlooked gem of advice: Kill your stupid screen saver. In the good old days of tube monitors, screen savers such as those unforgettable flying toasters were invented to prevent burn-in, a permanent shadow branded into the phosphors of your monitor by a static image of, say, a spreadsheet that you left on your screen all weekend.

Well, flat-screen LCD monitors don’t burn in, so if you still have flying toasters or an endlessly looping slide show of your adorable niece and nephew, you’re behind the times. When you’re not sitting in front of your monitor it should be off off off.

It warmed my heart to read at Green Daily that Telstra, the biggest phone company in Australia, has removed all the corporate screen savers from the 36,000 computers in its offices. What will happen? The change will cut tons of CO2, which they claim will be the equivalent of taking 140 cars off the road for a year. Good on ya, mate. Follow Telstra’s example. Let your flying toasters crash and burn.

Don Willmott’s blog posts are provided by LifeWire, a part of The New York Times Company.

Payments are sent to designers/sellers once they reach the minimum payment threshold (US$25). You can increase your minimum, if you wish. They send cheques or Paypal payments.

They provide some basic statistics of visits and sales on your account dashboard. There are also some information showing how visitors/buyers find your cards.

Also, there’s an option to make your designs available as free ecards. When these ecards are sent, there’s an ad that will say something like “This free ecard is also available as a print greeting card.” – pointing to where they can buy it online.

Where to Sell and Market Your Ebook

The internet has plunged into the deep pools of Possibility. With it are the assurances that information will not be hogged by a single person, and that whatever anybody makes available on the internet can be accessed by a colossal reading public. It has also created new forms of interaction: in business, in finance, and even in marketing to name a few.

Marketing Ebooks

Blogs are one of way making money. Freelance writing is another. Selling and marketing an electronic book or ebook can pave the way to getting your idea to a wider audience while you earn in the process. Ebooks are generally shorter and much cheaper to produce than a book on paperback. For one, it can be self-published on your own personal site.

If you plan on making a living out of your writing skills, make sure that there is a demand for what you are producing (your ideas or opinions).

You can create your own ebook while providing other informational ebooks by different authors in your website. Starting a virtual library is cheaper than actually building one in real life, and you have the freedom to choose your content which advisably, should complement one another.

There are third party merchants on the internet which can help you sell your ebook.
These include:

1. ClickBank.
Though fees are pretty high and you can’t access your affiliates, they take care of everything for you. It’ll deliver your ebook for you.

2. PayPal.
Cheaper than ClickBank with pretty much the same problems. Your money, however, is readily accessible. You’ll have to find a way to deliver your product, however.

3. QuickSales.
Though a more sophisticated shopping cart program, this will manage several products in one account. It can incorporate PayPal or other 3rd party programs.

Producing and selling literature aren’t controlled solely by the book publisher or the professional writer anymore. Anybody with an internet connection and a bank account – such as yourself – can readily make a living as a content or information provider on the internet.

Phony Sandra Dewi Nude Photos – The Case Study

Our next case study about graphic alteration and photos manipulation is the Sandra Dewi Nude Photos. As usual, I made a google a bit and try to find some good example about this very topic. Guess what? There’s a blog which did exactly as I am ( I mean, What I ‘m gonna do right now) doing a case study regarding the graphic forgery of some celebrities. He ‘s already write this topic about Sandra Dewi bugil photos faking, and use the same source as the basic case studying. No need to wait any further, I send him a request to ask his permission to put his writing in here, as a guest writer. He said okay! How awesome is that! So this topic was actually written by Jason of Amapanet.com. With his full permission, here goes..

This girl is one stunning actress this country have. With just quiet few appearance in one bigscreen and some TV movies, she became one of the most lovable celebrity in Indonesia. I ‘m talkin about Sandra Dewi. One innocent pretty face that boost her carrier since her first debut in Indonesian movies Quickie Express, 2007.
Enough of the bio stuff, let’s get to the subject of this topic.

Sandra Dewi ‘s Nude Photos are Fabricated?

Sandra Dewi Bugil / Nude Photos Faked

That’s for sure, a big Yes. They’re all faked. Every graphic artists in this planet could conclude that in just one blink of an eye. There ‘re many discussion whether it’s faked or real, the press conference were officially gathered, and it was a bit crowded back then. Let’s take a look at how these Sandra Dewi’s nude photos created, from the graphic point of view.

5 Main Points We should take a look

1. Mismatched Background
Look at the sky, look at the ground, look at everything behind the subject(s) of the photo in question. If the blue hues of a clear day don’t match up or if the grass is actually greener on the other side of a celebrity’s body in a photo, it could be a misrepresentation of the truth.

2. Erratic Light Sources and Shadows
Notice how light affects the subject(s) of the picture. Does the light source(s) create even, uniform shadows or do shaded areas seem to have a mind of their own? If the shadows of celebrities cast in a picture don’t seem consistent, there’s a good chance that it’s a fake.

3. Mismatched Skin tones
This one could be the work of a bad make-up artist or tanning experience, but regardless, mismatched skin tones of a photo’s subject are usually the biggest clue that a celebrity’s head has been put on the body of another model.

4. Disproportionate Body Shape
If you put Tom Cruise’s head on Brad Pitt’s body nothing adds up to the truth. Pay attention to they way a celebrity’s body appears in a photo and compare it to confirmed real photos of that star. Do they look the same? If not, chances are that the photo under scrutiny isn’t genuine.

5. Unnatural Body Position
There are only so many ways the human body can bend. When Paris Hilton’s head is tilted one way, her body can’t go the other and if her arms are out to her sides, her torso will appear differently than it would if her arms were above her head. Look at the way a star is posing and if the pose is impossible to mimic the photo has probably been altered.

Some Dumb Questions about These Fabricated Photos

Is Sandra Dewi nude / bugil picture real? No.
Is Sandra Dewi posing nude / bugil for real? No, and never will be. ( I assume )
Where we can I get Sandra Dewi nude pictures? They ‘re all spreaded around the net, and are all fake. Why would you need one of those fake Sandra Dewi’s Nude photos anyway?

The conclusion? It was officially announced that all Sandra Dewi’s Nude pictures are fabricated.

Interesting, eh? Thanks Jason!

Make Money Doing Desktop Publishing: A Career in Digital Arts and Media

Thanks to desktop publishing, producing and designing newsletters, brochures, magazines and other print and online media have gotten easier and cheaper. This is an excellent career, particularly for people who love working with computer software, copy and graphics – mostly virtual assistants. It’s one of the businesses that are cheapest to start as well.

If this is your idea of a perfect job, here are some things you need to know about desktop publishing:

Education and training

Generally, you do not need to complete a college degree just to get hired as a desktop publisher. Many professionals in this field obtained their expertise through interest and practice. However, obtaining a certificate, a bachelor’s or associate degree will help, particularly because these qualifications often lead to the best jobs.

Knowledge in the appropriate computer software is also required. Since you will be working with computer peripherals such as scanners, cameras and printers, it’s also important that you are comfortable using these accessories.

What the job entails

As a desktop publisher, it’s important that you know how to use the appropriate computer software. Having good artistic skills and knowledge in visual aesthetics are also key to success.

Other than that, you also need to be capable of making critical decisions regarding certain elements that affect the final product. Being able to identify strong and weak points in a presentation and give alternative suggestions and approaches are also vital to your work.

Since you will be working with a computer, expect to be spending most of your work hours sitting in front of a monitor. Expect to be working and communicating closely with clients during projects and job assignments.

Job prospects

In 2006, over 30,000 people worked in desktop publishing and the figure continues to rise. Many of these individuals work independently either as self-employed workers who own their own firms or work-from-home contractors. It’s important to create a strong portfolio and obtain excellent reviews from past clients. Build your network and market your skills to gain more projects. Do research so you can price your services appropriately.

So where exactly can you find desktop publishing gigs? You can start looking for this type of job through visiting job boards, online marketplaces, social networks, and oftentimes by simply asking for referrals.

PHP: Simple Dynamic Graphs with PHP + MySql

Graphing in PHP has always been an annoyance for me – while it would be cool feature to have, the need doesn’t come up nearly enough to warrant paying the exorbitant fees associated with most commercial graphing libraries. Besides, commercial PHP libraries always bring out the miser in me – it just doesn’t seem to fit with the open source model. Enter Elliot Brueggeman’s Lightweight PHP Graphing Library – with it I’ve finally found a PHP graphing library that’s simple to operate, generates image-based graphs, and is free to boot.

This is a graph of future email client requests on xobni.com. It tells us what clients other than Outlook people are using to manage their email, and thus helps us plan out future directions for Xobni Insight.

Elliot’s graphing library supports bar, line, and pie charts. As far as I can tell, it doesn’t yet support multiple lines per graph, and the graphs are not anti-aliased (yuck!). But for admin-only graphs, its simplicity is its best asset.

The dynamic graph produced by this code below :

include("lib/phpgraphlib.php");
include("lib/phpgraphlib_pie.php");
$title = "Future Requests by Client";
$dataArray=array();
$sql = "SELECT client,COUNT(id) as counter FROM Users GROUP BY client";
$result = mysql_query($sql);
while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) {
$counter = $row["counter"];
$dataArray[$row["which_client"]]=$counter;
}
$graph=new PHPGraphLibPie(265,265);
$graph->addData($dataArray);
$graph->setTitle($title);
$graph->setLabelTextColor("50,50,50");
$graph->setLegendTextColor("50,50,50");
$graph->createGraph();

That’s all there is to creating an image-based graph with Elliot’s library. In some ways, I prefer this over the flash charting library I’ve used in the past – while the flash animation is beautiful, it’s nice that you can just right click and save these image-based graphs for use in powerpoint presentations, etc. Besides, while it took me a good 5 hours to set up the flash library, I had this set up in less than an hour of experimentation.

Download needed files here

There are a few other svg+css+javascript graphing libraries that I plan to check out soon; but for now, the Lightweight PHP graphing library did the trick by producing simple graphs with relatively little effort.

Great Web Content Writer Resource – Constant Content

Have old articles lying around? Most content writers do, simply from jobs where the deals fell though or samples that were never purchased. The good news is that you don’t have to wait for the right gig to come along to sell.

Sign up at Constant Content, and you can make some cash from those old articles without even trying!

Constant Content is great because you can choose your own price as the author of the piece. The process to submit articles is fairly straight-forward, and you can list your article in one of three categories:

1. Full Rights

The person purchasing the article owns it completely, and can add it to multiple websites, resell it, put their own name on it, add links, or whatever. Once an article is purchased for full rights, it is removed from the CC database so no one else can buy it.

2. Unique

This is almost the same as full rights, but the person cannot remove your name as author or resell the content when using it. Again, once it is purchased, it is removed from the CC database.

3. Usage

Someone who buys usage rights is paying to use the article as you wrote it with your name attached. However, they are acknowledging that the article can be purchased again and used by another person. Once someone purchased usage rights, the article can no longer be bought for unique or full rights.

YES! YES! I WON! I WON!

Two bored casino dealers are waiting at the crap table. A very attractive blonde woman from Mississippi arrived and bet twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) on a single roll of the dice.

She said, ” I hope you don’t mind, but I feel much luckier when I play topless.”

With that, she stripped to the waist; rolled the dice and yelled,
“Come on, Southern Girl needs new clothes!”

As the dice bounced and came to a stop, she jumped up-and- down and squealed

YES! YES! I WON! I WON!

She hugged each of the dealers…and then picked up her winnings, and her clothes and quickly departed.
The dealers stared at each other dumfounded.

………….

After a bit while… finally, one of them asked, “What did she roll ?”
The other answered, “I don’t know… I thought you were watching.”

Fun Facts:

1. Not all Southerners are stupid.
2. Not all blondes are dumb.
3. But all men… are men

Ultimate 5 Tips for Successful eBay Selling

There are many “power sellers” on eBay who make a full-time living from the online auction site. Surprisingly, this isn’t a hard market to get into. However, there are some helpful tricks that will help you to maximize your earning potential and compete with other sellers. Below are five tips for becoming a more effective eBay seller.

1. List Your Items at the Right Time

Many buyers wait to bid on eBay items until the very end of the auction. If your items end at a time of day when the site is very active, your buyers will be more likely to get into a bidding war. In other words, the auction will end at a higher price. Make sure you don’t list items at a time when the auctions end during odd hours.

2. Mistype Your Auction Title

In addition to correctly spelling your item’s name, you could also include a common misspelling of the item. That way, those who search eBay with the incorrect spelling will find your auction. There are even sites, such as Mistyped Auctions, that will help you to determine how items are commonly misspelled. For example: “Guitar Hero” is commonly mistyped as “Gutiar Hero.”

3. Offer Good Pictures

Not only are images essential when making eBay sales, you need to take quality, detailed pictures. The first picture is free to list, so you may want to consider typing your description in HTML to add more images for free. That way, you can host images on Photobucket or Flickr, and then put them into your description’s code.

4. Don’t Gouge Shipping Prices

Never overcharge for shipping and then cite that extra charge as a “handling fee.” If you really think you deserve a handling fee, then put it into the listing price and not the shipping. Buyers will often choose one listing over the other because it offers a more reasonable shipping fee.

5. Research an Item on eBay Before Listing

Research each item on eBay before you list it. If you are convinced a certain item is worth $10 and you find that same item readily selling on eBay for $2, then you may have to adjust your strategy accordingly.

eBay sales can be unpredictable at times, but you can really tip things in your favor by following the above advice. There are eBay power sellers who make millions each year and everyone needs to start somewhere. With some careful determination, you too could become the next eBay success story.

How to Get Focused Traffic to Your Blog

While reading yet another info-packed blog post by Seth Godin, THE marketing guru, about focused intent traffic, it reminded me of the importance of increasing pageviews.

Bounce Rate

However, this time, Seth mentioned about bounce rate. It’s another site traffic measure that gauges the percentage of the people that leave your site as soon as they get to it.

Seth’s tips are about engaging your existing users more deeply and turn them into ambassadors, which makes so much sense. Why not focus on what you already have rather than obsessing on your bounce rate, right?

But for those who can’t stop obsessing about their Google Analytics stats, yeah all of you, er, us, there is a solution to your bouncy traffic.

Make your content as focused as possible.

How? Post as much relevant and yet interesting info that your site promised to offer, whether through your site’s title (if it’s obvious, more on this later) and/or domain name.

But what if you think your content’s focused enough already? Hmmm…

A large percentage of site traffic bounces for many reasons. A few of the factors that make traffic bounce off easily include:

1. Too lengthy articles

This one I’ve learned from providing off-page marketing service to one great writer who produce really long articles. No matter how well-written the writeups are, readers get easily overwhelmed when they see a 1000 to 3000-word article. So my suggestion here is make articles easy to digest by writing shorter ones. But if that’s not your style, you can write long and short articles alternately to mix things up.

2. All-Text Content

Images, Images, Images. Don’t blame all the visual addiction to men – it’s human nature to enjoy eye-catching images so include some relevant images on your site.

3. Overly Clever Titles

Oftentimes, easy reads (meaning not too many brain hemorrhage-inducing paradoxes, oxymorons, hyperboles, metaphors) score more cookie points than being too snarky. Just imagine if I wrote “It’s Your Right to Get the Right People Whom You’ve Been Long Writing For to Notice Your Site” instead of this post’s current title. Wait, that’s not a snarky title, it’s an uber-long title, which actually sounds stupid to me. But I hope you get the picture… :-)

The main idea is keeping things simple and just quickly giving the needs of the traffic that the search engines (yep, another SEO technique) drove to your site. Titles and subheadings that say what the content is all about greatly helps here. I call it WYRITTIWYG.

And the rest of the pageview-increasing tips might be of help as well.

What else can you suggest in keeping site bounce rates low?

No Idea, is Dumb? Top 10 Dumb Ideas that Make Money

You know how they say “No idea, is dumb” in company meetings? Well, that’s not actually true. The fact of the matter is that some ideas are dumb. Who cares? Especially if some dumb ideas make people lots of money. These are the Top 10 Dumb Ideas that Make Money:

1. Pet Rock

This was a simple, million dollar idea. Pick up a rock, throw it in a box with some hay and sell for $4.99. Who knew millions of people would prefer to buy a rock to collect dust in their junk drawers over going out and finding one of their own.

2. Billy the Big Mouth Bass

WalMart couldn’t keep Billy the Big Mouth Bass on the shelves as folks everywhere bought singing fish to adorn their trailers. I don’t know what would posses someone to make a singing fish…or maybe it was the fish that was possessed.

3. Antenna balls

It was bad enough every business gave this away as convention swag at one time, but people were actually buying these.

4. The Flowbee

If there was ever a product that scared kids and husbands alike, it was the Flowbee. Part clipper, part vacuum, the Flowbee supposedly gives a precision haircut with no mess. How so many of these sold is beyond me.

5. Doggles

Someone thought it would be a good idea to sell sun glasses for dogs. Millions agree. I bet the dogs don’t agree though, mine would never wear these.

6. Santa Mail

I really dropped the ball with this one. For years I sent notes from Santa to nieces, nephews and friends’ kids. Everyone told me to start a website and I never did. Then someone comes out with SantaMail and is doing great. Who knew?

7. The Million Dollar Home Page

Wanna buy a piece of this blog? It’s only a dollar? Sounds like a silly idea but the owner of the Million Dollar Home Page sold pixels on his website for $1 per pixel – and he sold over a million of them.

8. Baby Wigs

When my kid is old enough I’m sure he’ll have enough reasons to hate me what with making him clean his room and go to school and all. If I put him in one of these and he saw the pictures, it would no doubt seal the deal.

9. Tumbleweed Farm

The Prairie Tumbleweed Farm harvests and ships tumbleweeds world wide. We don’t know exactly why anyone would actually buy a tumbleweed, but apparently they’re selling well.

10. Mood Rings

So they were supposed to change color according to mood except no one could seem to get theirs off blue. Oh and did I mention they were ugly?

Any other dumb ideas? Maybe they’re not so dumb after all…

9 Top Reason Why Your Online Business Failing

A failing website is a serious matter for any web-based business and can be wholly debilitating for young ventures. A website can be equated to your first impression. People will notice its design, layout, what’s written, and its tone. Their decisions to transact with you will depend on the impact you make. In it also, is a gateway from you to your client and vise versa. Don’t take it lightly; the internet can make and break businesses just as easily as a market’s climate.

Here are 9 Top Reason Why Your Online Business Failing :

1. Have you introduced yourself?

Putting your information isn’t merely a matter of posting your name, your contact numbers or your email addresses. It’s also about drawing your customer in and allowing him or her to know you. Tell them something about yourself –if you’re in college and doing this as a sideline, say so. People in general appreciate honesty and this personal touch will increase trust and will allow clients to be comfortable with you.

2. Do you have the correct product information?
3. Does it provide real content?

Always have a FAQ ready, and tell them what your product is: what it’s made of, what it’s for, where it came from, etc.

4. Can people purchase through your site?

This is essential for selling; make it easy for your customer to buy from you. If they have to go through a long, hard process –and it doesn’t even have to be that hard –they will drop like flies.

5. Have you chosen your target niche or a general theme?

Talking to your audience means knowing who they are. You will cater to them better, and know more of their needs. If you spread yourself too thin, people will have the impression that you lack direction and even expertise.

6. Do you regularly communicate with your public?
Keep in touch and keep the avenues of communication open. Without your clients, you have nothing.

7. Are you using a dot.com name?
8. Does your website have a professional appearance?

A dot com name makes your site easier to remember and using professional-looking designs will give you a measure of authority.

9. Never least, have you checked on the competition?
You can find what you do and do not like from websites in the same market and use that to improve yours.

Answer these ten questions and re-evaluate your site. This’ll give you a powerful edge over the competition.

Use Twitter for your Business

Twitter is a service to whom you can send messages with a maximum of 140 characters. You can send them via SMS, IM, the web, and some third-part clients. You can receive messages through Twitter via the same avenues. “Friends” or “tweets” will and can receive your messages as you make them. That in itself is a powerful marketing tool for your business.

Keep in Touch

Just as other people can receive the latest news, or know of other freebies from companies such as Starbucks – you can keep in touch with your customers in much the same way. This personalizes business for you; you can update your clients about your vacation, if you’re going on spring break, or if you’re having a holiday sale. You can promote your blog, or tell them if you’ve sent an email or a newsletter to their inboxes.

Through this service, you can also use it to give updates about your product; any changes of price, supply, and other things. Clients appreciate it when you keep things as convenient as possible for them.

Technical difficulties on your website can be communicated to your entire client-base, cutting expectations if they’re to make a purchase online.

Find a Discussion that Interests you

Twitter can also be used to find people to work with if you find a discussion that interests you. There are also those who will send you messages that say, “searching for something to do”; that would be a good time for you to catch up and hold a conversation.

It is also a good place to fish. You can find out what people are trying out and what the latest trends are. You’d be much less dependent on your newsreader because you hear all about the cool stuff on Twitter.

How to Give Your Business a Good Impression

A professional façade lets your customer a number of things words or even conversation initially cannot: that you care, that you are a man or woman of your word, and that you will deliver. 93% of how you will be judged will be based not on what you say but on your body language and appearance. That may go for your website, your logo, and even the people you employ –provided your college business has grown big enough. Most of all, that will go for you.

Here are a few things to keep in mind if you and your business make a good impression.

Your first 7 to 12 words, can cost you the deal.

If you’re talking to them on the phone or even chatting over the internet, 70% of how they judge you will be your tone of voice while the rest will be the words you compose.

Business Card & Info sheet

Even if you do have a home based business, more opportunities will knock at your doorstop if you have a business card or if you have an info sheet. There’s nothing more frustrating than somebody who asks for information you cannot readily give; it’s a missed opportunity.

Create a logo, no matter how simple, and advertise with conciseness.

If you have a website, putting your contact details, FAQs, and how to purchase your product will leave nothing to chance. You not only spare yourself unnecessary conversation with regards to who you are and what you’re doing, but you provide an avenue for your clients to contact you whenever they feel the need.

Client, the Most Important Person

Remember, your client will always be the most important person. He or she will appreciate you inasmuch as you appreciate them; thank them for their time, call them by their name, and smile. What will reel people in will be your enthusiasm.

Giving a good impression, as it is with meeting people, is an essential part of business. Ultimately, people who hold transactions with you will always do so because they like you or because they trust you.

The executive & Shredder Machine

A young executive was leaving the office at 6 pm when he found the CEO standing in front of a shredder with a piece of paper in hand.

“Listen,” said the CEO, “this is important, and my secretary has left. Can you make this thing work?”

“Certainly,” said the young executive. He turned the machine on, inserted the paper, and pressed the start button.

“Excellent, excellent!” said the CEO as his paper disappeared inside the machine.

I just need one copy.

Phony Angelina Jolie Nude Pics – The Case Study

Our first case study about graphic alteration and photos manipulation is the Angelina Jolie’s Nude Photos. I made a google a bit and found some good example about this very topic. The basic I used is my own knowledge about graphic and the recent guidelines I read and re-write : “5 Ways to Spot a Fake Celebrity Photo“.

Disproportionate Body Shape

This case study will take the Disproportionate Body Shape topic. “Pay attention to they way a celebrity’s body appears in a photo and compare it to confirmed real photos of that star. Do they look the same? If not, chances are that the photo under scrutiny isn’t genuine.”

Well, I actually saved only 15 fake Angelina Jolie’s Nude photos, but I ‘ll use 4 perfect samples for this messy un-proportionate body faking. The manipulation using the very basic technique, putting Angelina Jolie’s head to somebody else’s body, in some position. You may take a look at the large version of these pictures below:

Click to open the large picture.

 1  2  3  4

Some Notes

From their so called work of art final released pictures it seems this forgery artists don’t know exactly what is the word body proportion means. As you may recognize in a quick sight, all the heads always a bit tinier, or we must say too tiny for the body they put into.

The large pictures, I increased the highlight/shadow level into 57%, and see what’s goin on. The original tone of hairs and shading showed. They might not even notice that! What a graphic artist, eh?

The worst work ever is the picture 3. It still leave the original background of the head. And the neck!! Man..!! That’s what people called putting the head off?

Alrite, see you with the next Celebrity Nude photos case study.

Forbes $100,000 Business Plan Competition

As mentioned already at the Business Pundit, Forbes is having their second “Boost your Businesscompetition looking to award $100,000 to an individual with the best business plan. Don’t take this competition light heartedly though, because it’s pretty serious, evident by last year’s very deserving/qualified winner.

To enter the contest, you need to type up your business plan in a clear, convincing 500 words (that’s not fluff). That’s due May 31. Then if you make it to the next round, you’ll need to film a 30 second elevator pitch of your idea.

From the feeling of this competition, it seems for suited for those with established businesses that could grow wildly with just a little bump of capital. Having said that, I also think that big business would love to finance some deserving, driving, college student startup if they do have a viable enough plan and credentials.

It’s definitely a long shot that I don’t think I’ll try out, but it’s something you should consider if you have an offline business idea with high potential. I say offline because online business doesn’t seem like it has as viable of an upside by just pouring $100,000 into the business coffers. The growth opportunities with offline businesses seem much larger than growth opportunities of online businesses with the same $100k. However, I’d love somebody to prove me wrong.

Perhaps this blog’s owner, Ryan, who may or may not have taken in $60,000 worth of funding a while ago, could elaborate as to whether 100k could grow an online business at a competitive rate. Uhm.. but anyways, this will definitely be an interesting competition to follow.

5 Ways to Spot a Fake Celebrity Photo

This evening I just browse around, and got into this interesting writing about ways to recognize whether the our favorite celebrity photo real or phony.

Don’t be duped by another doctored photo! More often than not, fake celebrity pics are produced to generate publicity for whatever publication is printing the image. Recognizing what is real and fake in a photo requires a little attention to subtle details. Below are 5 tell-tale signs that a photo has been altered.

  1. Mismatched Background.
    Look at the sky, look at the ground, look at everything behind the subject(s) of the photo in question. If the blue hues of a clear day don’t match up or if the grass is actually greener on the other side of a celebrity’s body in a photo, it could be a misrepresentation of the truth.
  2. Erratic Light Sources and Shadows.
    Notice how light affects the subject(s) of the picture. Does the light source(s) create even, uniform shadows or do shaded areas seem to have a mind of their own? If the shadows of celebrities cast in a picture don’t seem consistent, there’s a good chance that it’s a fake.
  3. Mismatched Skin tones.
    This one could be the work of a bad make-up artist or tanning experience, but regardless, mismatched skin tones of a photo’s subject are usually the biggest clue that a celebrity’s head has been put on the body of another model.
  4. Disproportionate Body Shape.
  5. Unnatural Body Position.

Phony photos have probably been around since the camera was invented, but in the digital world of photo-editing, photo forgeries are fairly common, especially online, but can also appear in magazines, newspapers and even in print ads. If you’re thinking tabloids hold the monopoly on faking celebrity pics, well.. you are mistaken.

Cheap and Reliable GPS

You guys know what GPS is right? The Global Positioning System device?
Here ‘s a hint I got from wikipedia:

The Global Positioning System (GPS) is the only fully functional Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). Utilizing a constellation of at least 24 Medium Earth Orbit satellites that transmit precise microwave signals, the system enables a GPS receiver to determine its location, speed, direction, and time. Other similar systems are the Russian GLONASS (incomplete as of 2008), the upcoming European Galileo positioning system, the proposed COMPASS navigation system of China, and IRNSS of India.

Developed by the United States Department of Defense, GPS is officially named NAVSTAR GPS (Contrary to popular belief, NAVSTAR is not an acronym, but simply a name given by John Walsh, a key decision maker when it came to the budget for the GPS program).[1] The satellite constellation is managed by the United States Air Force 50th Space Wing. The cost of maintaining the system is approximately US$750 million per year,[2] including the replacement of aging satellites, and research and development.

Cheap and Reliable GPS

GPS are not all reliables. There sometime is software bugs, connections problems, bad results, and so on. But here is the most reliable GPS! No software bugs, No connections problems, No bad results!
And best of all …….. It’s cheap!

Javascript : Text Resize with Cookie

I was telling you in a previous article – Javascript – text resize – how you can give your site’s visitors the possibility to see your page’s content at different text sizes, using javascript. Let’s take this further and think a little about the user… now, if he really needs a bigger text size, then he will have to use those buttons or links on each page – not so convenient, right?

Well, don’t you worry about this because that’s what we have cookies for! :smile:

Using the same example as in the previous article, here is what you have to do:

1. Add two more functions to the javascript file for cookie’s handling

Javascript code:

function createCookie(name,value,days) {
if (days) {
var date = new Date();
date.setTime(date.getTime()+(days*24*60*60*1000));
var expires = "; expires="+date.toGMTString();
}
else var expires = "";
document.cookie = name+"="+value+expires+"; path=/";
}
function readCookie(name) {
var nameEQ = name + "=";
var ca = document.cookie.split(';');
for(var i=0;i < ca.length;i++) {
var c = ca[i];
while (c.charAt(0)==' ') c = c.substring(1,c.length);
if (c.indexOf(nameEQ) == 0) return c.substring(nameEQ.length,c.length);
}
return null;
}

The createCookie function has three parameters: the name and value of the cookie and the number of days it is to remain active. If you set the number of days to 0 the cookie is trashed when the user closes the browser. If you set the days to a negative number the cookie is trashed immediately.
In my example, I used “textsizestyle” as cookie’s name, javascript variable textsize as value and I set it to be active for 365 days: createCookie("textsizestyle", textsize, 365);.

The readCookie function has only one parameter: the name of the cookie. It returns the value of that cookie or null.
In my example, I used “textsizestyle” as cookie’s name: readCookie("textsizestyle");

More info on these two functions and cookies in general Go to Quirksmode site.

2. Use createCookie to store user’s preferred text size

I used it in the fsize function, so that each time the user change the text size, the font value is stored in the cookie. Here is the modified fsize function:

function fsize(size,unit,id){
var vfontsize = document.getElementById(id);
if(vfontsize){
vfontsize.style.fontSize = size + unit;
createCookie("textsizestyle", textsize, 365);
}
}

3. Use readCookie to change text size on rendering

I added the following piece of code at the end of the page to read the cookie’s value and in case there is a value stored into the cookie to force the page content to be render at that specific font size.

<script type="text/javascript">
var cookie = readCookie("textsizestyle");
textsize = cookie ? cookie : 10;
fsize(textsize,'px','content');
</script>

To make it easy, I have put them all js functions in a javascript file, ready for you to download and add to your site.

That’s it! Enjoy!

On Feedblitz and Making Money with Email Subscriptions

If you run a blog or a site that offers RSS updates, you might want to consider making your content available via email. Your readers and subscribers who wish to keep tabs on your blog/site but do not use feedreaders will probably appreciate this, especially if you publish full feeds.

There are several services available for this, and one of which is Feedblitz. You can either manually create your email newsletters – or get auto updates using your RSS feed.

I’ve been using their service for a few months and ‘am quite happy with them so far. It’s simple to set up. And there are customisations available, even for free users. You can customise the look of your newsletter, the number of times it’s sent out, the type of ads it runs, etc.

Recently, I found out that they also run a Feedblitz Ad Network, where people can buy advertising space in various mailing lists. And, those newsletter publishers who run these ads can earn some revenue from such advertising. Here’s a quick explanation of what Feedblitz Ad Network is about (from the site):

FeedBlitz’s email advertising programs enable advertisers to place targeted ads in newsletter updates, and bloggers and newsletter publishers to make money from (or “monetize’) their mailing list. It is an entirely self-serve and opt-in solution.

There are different variables to the earning capabilities of this program.

1. Free users are able to participate, but Premium users are given double earnings/revenue share.
2. List size (number of subscribers) will also affect your earning capabilities, as the number of times ads are viewed and clicked will have different effects.
3. The number of times you publish content via Feedblitz will also affect the earnings.

There’s also $25 payment threshold. Once that amount is reached, payment will be made 45 days later. Fees are payable only via Paypal at this time.

Since I’ve only started using the ad network, I’m not yet sure how good it is going to be. I’ll let you know more when I have more information.

Javascript : Text Resize

If you want to give your site’s visitors the possibility to see your page’s content at different text sizes, you can do it with the following javascript text resize solution.

First you should decide which part of the page will be affected by text resizing and mark it with an id – in my example id=”content”. It can be a div or a table or the entire page if you want.

Alright, the javascript code..

Simple Text size Switcher

function fsize(size,unit,id){
var vfontsize = document.getElementById(id);
if(vfontsize){
vfontsize.style.fontSize = size + unit;
}
}

This function has 3 parameters: size (like 10, 80, 2), unit (like px, %, em) and id (like content).

Next add links for text resize – you can use text or images for these – for example:

<a href="javascript:fsize(10,'px','content');"> Increase size </a>
<a href="javascript:fsize(14,'px','content');"> Reduce size </a>

There you have a simple text size switcher!

Dynamic Text Size Changer

I wanted to change the text size dynamically by 2 px at each click, so I changed the code a little bit. I used another function to calculate the new value of the text size by adding or subtracting 2 out of a js variable (textsize) which holds the current text size value.

Here is what you need to add into the javascript code:

var textsize = 10;
function changetextsize(up){
if(up){
textsize = parseFloat(textsize)+2;
}else{
textsize =parseFloat(textsize)-2;
}
}

Now, add onclick event on those links to call the new function and also change the first parameter of fsize function with the js var (textsize) – like this:

<a href="javascript:fsize(textsize,'px','content');" onclick="changetextsize(1);"> Increase size </a>
<a href="javascript:fsize(textsize,'px','content');" onclick="changetextsize(0);"> Reduce
size </a>

That should do it! Enjoy!
