Time and time again, I read stories about hobbyists who turn their passions in to profitable businesses. I’m all for this type of ‘unexpected entrepreneurship’ - where people find ways to monetise things that they love.
Personal Inventory
If you haven’t got an online business yet, and you’re looking in to finding ways to make money online, I suggest that you start off with a personal inventory. What is it that you like to do? What are you passionate about? What are your interests? Make a list and find out different ways that you can turn these things into a business.
Most of the time, you can categorize possible online business models as either product-oriented or service-oriented. Look at how your interests can fit in to a business model.
Then, look at the existing businesses that are similar to what you’re interested in. See how you can compete in the market. Can you offer something better or something unique?
